Trek to Kulang (Igatpuri)

It was Diwali vacation and some of our gang members were free for the weekend. So we planned up a good two day trek to Kulang fort this time. Kulang is situated in the Kalsubai range of Igatpuri and is one of the three famous forts Alang – Madan – Kulang. Kulang offers the highest climb in whole Maharashtra from its base village to top. So we decided to do it as a long trek, starting right from Igatpuri station. The route is like this – Igatpuri station – Bahuli – Kurungwadi. This route is about 26 kms. Trek to Siddhagad (Kalyan) – Second attempt

TryTheThrill started its monsoon season of year 2010 by a unsuccessful trek to Siddhagad and ended monsoons with a successful trek to Siddhagad on last weekend of October.  You can read our last time’s thriller outstanding experience of Siddhagad here. Trek to Tringalwadi (Igatpuri)

It was third week of September and monsoons had not yet ended. A quick short trek was planned by us on we decided to conquer Tringalwadi fort this time. Tringalwadi is situated near Igatpuri station and is accessible via Tringalwadi village as well as directly from Igatpuri station (trek of 4 hours). We were total 7 people and headed towards Igatpuri on 19th September 2010 morning 7.30 am by two cars. The morning was pleasant in Mumbai, we were not expecting rains for the whole trek.
